How to Start Your Trek – Imlil Village
All treks to Toubkal begin in Imlil (1,740m), a charming village at the head of the Imlil Valley. Surrounded by walnut and apple orchards and crossed by a rushing river, Imlil is the perfect base for acclimatization and preparation.
Imlil to Toubkal Refuge
The direct route to Toubkal Refuge takes about 4 hours uphill, passing the famous shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2,350m). For a more scenic experience, many trekkers explore the nearby Azzaden Valley.
Toubkal Refuge (3,207m)
The refuge is essential for overnight stays. Dormitories are simple and can be crowded, but camping outside is possible in good weather.
Climbing to the Summit
Tizi n Toubkal Pass
